Vaporesso Target Mini 2 50W Kit Review

While I realize I’m a bit late to the party in reviewing the Target Mini 2 from Vaporesso, I think it’s a great device that fits in its niece well! This is an extremely compact mod designed for vapers who enjoy a small form factor in their vape but don’t want to go all the way down to pod devices and using nic salt. I have to give props to Vaporesso for this one, I personally am a big fan of compact vape devices, especially ones that last as long as this one does!

Yes for all you 0, 3, and 6mg vapers the Target Mini 2 is made for you! This device features a no-nonsense design with an internal battery built to last. But how well does it measure up against other compact vapes?

The Looks 

I really love the small form factor of this mod, while it is a bit chubby thanks to its massive internal battery, it’s actually a bit shorter than the big pod systems out there like the SMOK Trinity Alpha, the RPM40, and the DNA Orion. In terms of the design, the Target Mini 2 is built with a small size in mind. It has a small 0.66” OLED Screen on the front to display vaping data and menu options, below is a set of function keys for navigating the menus. As far as the color goes, it looks like a cross between matte and metal flake, as dichotomous as that sounds, but it gives the device a nice high-tech look. 

The body is designed with a somewhat trigger-style fire button and a rounded grip on both sides. Interestingly enough, it also features a very similar diamond etched grip pad to a Beretta m9a1 pistol. I have to wonder if one of the designers over at Vaporesso is a shooting enthusiast with all these heralds to firearm grip styles, but I digress. I should also note there’s some handy battery venting on the bottom of the device, for your safety of course. 

It comes with the VM Tank, a compact atomizer designed for MTL vaping. I find the design of the tank to be very practical, with a metal outer shell protecting an inner glass section. It may not be the prettiest look, but at least it’ll survive drop after drop without breaking. 

How it Works 

The upgrade in the Target Mini 2 over the original Target Mini comes directly into play during usage. In this updated version, the mod has an internal battery boasting a reported 2000mAh power supply. More than enough to last 50% longer than the original Target, according to Aspire’s claims. With it’s 2A quick charge rating you can get that battery up to full power in about 1-1.5 hours, and there’s even a nifty timer to let you know approximately how long it’ll take to charge. 

The power ranges up to 50W, plenty for MTL vaping but don’t expect to be pushing out monster clouds with this Mini mod. I found the menus easy enough to navigate and using the buttons was simple, I like the addition of an enter/select button, most mods just use the fire button for that purpose. It also has a fully fleshed out temperature control suite, perfect for all you fans of TC vaping. Although I’m not sure how useful TC is on a platform that's designed specifically with MTL vaping in mind. 

The Verdict

I have to say, I’m impressed with the performance out of this little guy. For a mod that’s shorter than a pod device, it really packs a decent punch! Not to mention, the battery life is great for vaping on the go, unlike some other small mods that can die after just 3-4 hours of vaping. I’ve been a proponent of smaller mods for a while now, mostly because I like being able to walk into clubs without having the metal detector wand guy look at me like I’m carrying a C4 detonator. 

There’s something to be said for a well-made device that takes size and performance and blends them together to create a happy medium. If compact vaping is your style look no further than the Vaporesso Target Mini 2.
